A Freeze Over

A few nights ago Corey and I came home and our house was really hot inside. It was almost 80 inside. The air conditioner was obviously not working. I went downstairs to look at the furnace to see what I could see. I noticed that all the pipes were iced over.  I could not get a hold of my Dad. Corey was talking to one of our friends, Ben. He told us to turn everything off and turn on the fan to let everything defrost.

I finally was able to get a hold of my Dad, he knew just what the problem was with the furnace. He came to the conclusion that I was using the wrong filters. About a month ago, I had switched to a more expensive, thicker filter that only needs to be changed every 90 days. It turns out it was too thick and was preventing airflow into the furnace. So I switched from a $20 filter back to the $3 filter packs. So far, so good; everything is working fine. If I would have kept using the thicker filter, the furnace would have burnt out.

So before calling a repairman, you might try taking a look at the filter you are using.

Unfinished Projects

I have a really bad habit of starting a project and not finishing it. The main reason is I get stuck or am unsure how to go about finishing them. Along with my fall cleaning out the house, I have decided to be a finisher. So I am tackling projects one by one.

This summer I started a project with my friends Susan and Kate. Well lets say I never finished it. So this week I finished the project. It turns out that it was really not that hard to finish. The kids actually really liked them and even wore the shirts to school. So I am on to the next project- until I get stuck again. ;)

First bike crash

Annisten is crazy over her bike she got for her birthday. The other day she had her first dramatic crash. I turned around to watch Peyton zoom down the hill on his scooter and the next thing I know, Annisten is crying. She had a banged up elbow, but other than that looked OK. Problem was solved with a hug and a Hello Kitty band-aid. When we got home I was putting her helmet away. Then I found an actual crack in the helmet! I am so glad that she was wearing one!

Provo Canyon

Our family went up to Provo Canyon to enjoy the nice weather. Peyton and Annisten absolutely love going to Bridal Veil Falls. They could spend all day playing in the water and throwing rocks. I tried to get a few pics, but neither one of them would hold still for me to snap a shot.

I think we all have unfinished projects lying around. Good for you for finishing them! Glad Annisten wasn't hurt. You know you need to replace her helmet now, right? Thank goodness for helmets!

2 weeks after Drew was born our A/C did the same thing! What a mess. Luckily our basement was still kinda cool. We hung out there all day!
