Heart Attack

This morning I was in the kitchen checking my email and Peyton began screaming fanatically, "Mom... Hurry come quick!" So I ran into his room where the kids were playing and well you see what I saw...

I about had a heart attack. Annisten thought she was quite funny of coarse. I guess we are now in the climbing phase. I think this is one of the scariest phases. Kids have no fear or boundaries at this age. I had to take the latter down, of coarse. I'm sure anyone would agree, except for Peyton.

I don't want to eat it!

WARNING: This could be gross.

The other day we were eating dinner and I was trying to get Peyton to eat his corn on his plate. I know you are not suppose to bribe kids, but I have great success with it. I told Peyton he could have a treat or go outside if he ate his corn. After 20 minutes of bribery, Peyton asked if he could go to the park. I thought that was a fair trade. So he gobbled it down with his hands like a little monster. Maybe that's how three years old eat corn. Either way I was happy he ate his veggies that night.

The next morning Annisten had a stinky diaper. Since we had corn last night for dinner, I'm sure you can guess the contents of diaper. Yep, there was corn. Peyton came in and asked "Whatcha doing?" Then he looked down and with a very serious face said "I'm not eating that corn mommy. That's yucky. No way!" It took a few second for me to register why he would say that. Then I remember last nights dinner. I just started laughing. Poor guy. He really thought I was going to ask him to finish all of Annisten's corn!

Look what I found!

Last week Annisten discovered her nose. So needless to say every time I see the girl, guess where her little finger is ...

Annisten thinks this is quite funny. When you tell her to stop, she gives us her mischievous grin and giggles.

Seeing the Sights

After the wedding, we wanted to do a little sight seeing. So we spent one day in Manhattan, New York. The next day we went to Massachusetts. Brandon, Ashley, and Aspen joined us for the road trip. All of us squished into the rental van. Its amazing that we all fit and the luggage too.

We took the subway all over Manhattan. Our first stop was the Empire State Building and the magnificent view.

Peyton was so excited because he met Elmo on Time Square. Meeting Elmo and taking a picture with him made his day. Oh and the fact that he had a hot dog from the street vendor.

Our first stop in Massachusetts was in Salem. We went to a museum, which had a live reenactment of a trail. There was also a replica of the jail were the accused were kept. The entire story is so sad and it is hard to believe that this actually happened.

Our next stop was to see Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower replica. Plymouth Rock was under construction so we really did not get a good look at it.

Next we drove all the way to the very tip of Massachusetts. The kids were pretty excited to get out of the car, as well as the adults.

The whole Cape Cod area is absolutely breath taking. We went to Province town to look at the ocean and see a light house. By the time we made it to the light house trail, there was only about an hour left of day light. The scenery was romantic and breath taking. We were able to watch the sunset over the ocean.

A New York Wedding

Last Friday we made the 5 hour flight to New York. Rebecca, Corey's little sister, wedding was for the following day. We survived the flight only to find out that we had to take an air train to get to the rental car. Then spent 2 1/2 to 3 hours in bumper to bumper traffic trying make it to the hotel. We were so happy to make it to the hotel and see our family.

Peyton could hardly wait to see his cousin Samantha. He has asked every day for two weeks..."When do I get to see Samantha?" Peyton became Samantha's shadow for the entire weekend.
Annisten loved her new dress. She kept trying to pick the flowers. She also would twirl in circles and kept pulling up the front of the dress.
Aneundys and Rebecca had a beautiful wedding. We enjoyed meeting all of Aneundys' family too. Aneundys is a great guy and we are excited to have him and his family apart of ours.

All of the little ones posed with the the bride and groom.
Lily- Becca and Chey's new baby. Allissa (Chey's sister's little girl), Peyton, Kalynn (Chey's brother's little girl), and Samantha (Chey's little girl).
Peyton was the ring barer in the wedding. He was very excited to be a part of the wedding and took it very seriously. He was also very excited to walk beside Allissa too.

The only the picture that turned out of him is of coarse blurry. You cannot tell this but his pants were four inches too long. His tie was tucked into his pants and went all the way to his knees. Our little man was so proud of his suit.

Peyton danced the night away at the reception. He spent the entire night on the dance floor (except to eat his cake) showing off his moves. When he was to tired to dance. He laid on the dance floor and kicked his feet to the beat. Annisten slept pretty much the entire reception.
Peyton went up to Samantha and asked her to dance. He then took her hand and lead her to the dance floor. Peyton did this all on his own.

The Reed family at the reception.

Creepers, Crawlers, & Critters

When we came home from our summer adventures, there was a number of unwanted creepers, crawlers, and critters in our yard. There were grubs, slugs, spiders, and a mole. I put out some poison to try and get rid of our unwanted guests. After two times everything was gone except for the slugs and mole. There was a big difference in our grass and bushes after all of the pests were gone.

To get rid of the slugs, Peyton and I ended up using two containers of salt. Peyton enjoyed pouring salt on all the slugs. The must have been 200 of those little creepers.

Now the mole was another story. The little critter made huge sand and dirt piles in our grass. At first we tried collapsing the tunnels and blocking the holes. Then we tried to flood him out. Then we tried gum. Finally I went to Lowe's and picked up some stuff to get rid of him. I put put stuff out in the tunnels. The next day the mole would build in another location. Talk about annoying. It took four weeks to get rid of the little critter!

Happy Birthday!!

Peyton and Annisten both had a birthday this month.  We celebrated with some of our family and friends. Then we had a little party just for them.

Peyton is 3 years old. We are not sure if he is more excited about unwrapping presents or the presents themselves. Peyton also loves to blow out the candle. Every time he has a left over piece of cake, we have say happy birthday and blow out the candle again.

Annisten is 1 year old. She is more interested in the shiny ribbon on the packages and the pretty tissue paper. She absolutely loves food. So eating her own cake made her day. Annisten rocked in her high chair saying "yum, yum, yum, yum."

                          Happy Birthday!
We love you Peyton and Annisten!

Finished!

I finished Breaking Dawn today. This book was shocked by the events which took place in the book. I defiantly never would have guessed what happened in the last book, especially for the finial of the series. At the same time, I enjoyed every minute of the book.  Life can go on now.

Fall is Around the Corner

This weekend seemed like fall. We had to dig out our warmer gear. We even had our first snow in the mountain tops this weekend! I had this strange thrill of the change of the seasons. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  And yet there is a bit of sadness knowing that summer has almost come and gone so fast.

Whenever there is cooler weather, comfort foods always sound good. Since fall was in the air, I tried some fall cookies. They turned out really cute. Peyton was absolutely crazy over the pumpkin cookies (which were actually peanut butter).

Cart Obsession

My kids are obsessed with these carts or the race car carts. They go crazy if I pick anything other than the mambo kid cart. So I always end up pushing this huge cart through the store. I'm always bumping into things and struggling to try and turn the thing. When it comes to shopping, Peyton and Annisten are the best negotiators. I just want to get through the store without a major crisis on my hands.

Pig Days

After a week of working around the house, the kids were going stir crazy. On Saturday morning Peyton said "Mommy, lets get ready and do something fun." So Peyton, Annisten, and I went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point. Once there, we realized that it was pig days.

The kids made pig crafts of every kind from puppets to puzzles.

The pig cookies were a favorite or maybe it was the frosting...

Even Buddy the monkey had a good time at Thanksgiving Point.
