Seeing the Sights

After the wedding, we wanted to do a little sight seeing. So we spent one day in Manhattan, New York. The next day we went to Massachusetts. Brandon, Ashley, and Aspen joined us for the road trip. All of us squished into the rental van. Its amazing that we all fit and the luggage too.

We took the subway all over Manhattan. Our first stop was the Empire State Building and the magnificent view.

Peyton was so excited because he met Elmo on Time Square. Meeting Elmo and taking a picture with him made his day. Oh and the fact that he had a hot dog from the street vendor.

Our first stop in Massachusetts was in Salem. We went to a museum, which had a live reenactment of a trail. There was also a replica of the jail were the accused were kept. The entire story is so sad and it is hard to believe that this actually happened.

Our next stop was to see Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower replica. Plymouth Rock was under construction so we really did not get a good look at it.

Next we drove all the way to the very tip of Massachusetts. The kids were pretty excited to get out of the car, as well as the adults.

The whole Cape Cod area is absolutely breath taking. We went to Province town to look at the ocean and see a light house. By the time we made it to the light house trail, there was only about an hour left of day light. The scenery was romantic and breath taking. We were able to watch the sunset over the ocean.
