We have been working with Peyton on Potty Training for a long time. It started at 19 months. One day out of the blue he comes in and says I need to go potty. I thought OK this should to be good. So we went into his bathroom; low and behold he went. I was amazed! I told Corey all about it. I guess Corey had been talking to him about it. So over the next week, Peyton used the potty. He only used diapers at night time. Well that was easy, I thought. We bought unders just like his best friend Weston.
Then a few weeks later he had an accident on the couch in his unders in front of company. He was horrified. We tried to tell him that it was not a big deal, but he refused to have anything to do with potty training. He was so embarrassed about wearing diapers that we had to put unders over his diaper if any one came over or if he went somewhere.
Every couple of weeks we would try again, but he was just not interested and would cry about it. I really wanted him to be potty trained before Anni was born, but it just didn't happen. The doctor said that boys usually don't potty train until they are 3. So we just dropped the topic for a while.
So this summer, we tried again. Peyton would only go potty for his Dad. Then he found out the his new friend Drew used the big boy potty. For some reason that made using the potty OK to try again. So we tried again.
Corey and I used potty training using baby steps. Little by little he started using the potty more and more. We started by just at home. Then we progressed to at home with others around. And finally in public.
We are proud to say that the little man is potty trained a month before he turned 3! Corey and I are thrilled. We thought the day would never come. He acts like it is no big deal, but still like us to come and check out his business in the potty.

Nice! Way to go Peyton! What a cutie he is, and such a big boy now :)
go peyton!! Whahoo!!
Go Peyton!!! Isn't it a wonderful feeling to have that potty training behind you? It's great! Poor guy, he's come a long way. :) We love little Peyton. He's such a cutie!
Way to go Tiff! Potty training has got to be this biggest challenge in raising kids. Caleb was just like payton. He would go sometimes on the potty and other times he didn't want anything to do with it. he still wears pull-ups at night and he's 4 1/2. In case you haven't heard, the ward splitt again. We are still together though. Shadow Ridge is now officially it's own ward. Yay! Don't you guys come home soon? Not soon enough i guess. take Care!
Annie was so easy for me to train. I guess I am just too scared to train a boy. MIke was supposed to do it when he took vacation and never got around to it. Now I really don't want to with a newbornn in the house and packing and moving. Hopefully we'll get it done before he's 3 like you did. Can you send me you address, my email is tonimax@gmail.com Thanks!
WAT TO GO PEYTON!! I am totally jealous that you've got it accomplished. Cam is 19 months and I still haven't decided how to even approach this...but you have given me motivation!!
