Celebrating the 4th of July
Yorktown, Virginia
For the 4th of July, we went to Yorktown with with friends and family. What better place to celebrate the Independence Day than in historic Yorktown. This is the place our nation fought for freedom and defeated the Brittish in the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. At Yorktown there was music, activites, a parade, and a fireworks display.
It was blazing hot on the 4th of July! No one was even hungry for dinner. So we settled for snow cones. While we waited for the parade the kids played with snap pops and had a few snacks.
Peyton, Annisten, Hampton, and Aspen enjoyed waving their flags and watching the parade. All the kids loved the uniforms and bands.
After the parade we headed for the beach to cool off in the water and play in the sand. It was so nice once the sun went down. The fireworks show was amazing!
