My little worrier...

Peyton is my little worrier. He gets stuck on something and he just keeps thinking about it. Two things he is really worried about is college and finding a wife. Here is some of our conversations that we have had.

"Mom, when I go to college, I'm going to Utah. But everyone has to come with me to college. Mom you have to move with me to college. So does Dad, Anni, and Daisy." Peyton said.

"Well, I don't know if we can all move with you to college. That is something you have to do on your own. You can go to Utah or some place close to home. Its up to you." I told him.

"I'm going to Utah, but you will come to OK. How old do you have to be to go to college?" he asks.

"You have to be at least 18 and graduate from high school." I answered.

"Mom, I don't have much time." Peyton replied with a worried look on his face.

He has talked to me about college several times. I think that he might really be worried about it. Then tonight while tucking him into bed Peyton had another string of questions.

"Mom, where did you get your wedding dress?" Peyton asked.

"At a shop that sales wedding dresses in Utah" I answered.

"I have not seen any of those kinds of stores around here. I guess you have to go to Utah. Where did Dad get his wedding suit?" he said.

"He rented it from a store." I answered.

After a few more questions about wedding dresses and suits, I finally got him settled into bed. So I thought.

A few minutes later he called for me. I went in to see what he needed.

"Mom, I was thinking that I need to find a wife soon. I have been looking. " He told me.

It dawned on me why he was asking about the wedding clothes. So I talked to him about the type of girl he needs to look for in a wife (very basic). Then I told him not to worry and that he had plenty of time to find a wife.

"I was thinking about the girls in my class, but they don't go to our church. There isn't very many girls in my class at church. How am I going to meet my wife then?" Peyton responded.

So I told him that when he gets bigger that he can go to youth activities and meet girls or at balls (aka dances like in the Disney movies- the kids are always going to a ball and getting dressed up for it in while they are playing.) Then I had to explain that there will be a lot more girls there to meet. He had a ton of questions. He seemed pleased with that but I could still see the questions running around that little head of his. I told him not to worry that we could help him find a wife when he was older. That seemed to take the stress off of him and he was OK with that.

I am sure his mind will change about us taking him to college and having us pick out his wife. Of coarse I will probably remind him of the conversations we had when he was little. My little worried man makes me laugh. He stresses about big things that are still far away for such a little guy.

That is the cutest thing I have ever heard. Deakan was a little concerned about college after watching toy story 3 but he forgot about it pretty fast. Peyton reminds me of his daddy. Staying up late worrying about things that aren't necessary. I'll look forward to visiting you all when you move back to Utah for college!
