Hit by the Flu Bug!

I missed the whole day of love! Actually the whole family missed it. Not that I am against it or anything, but the kids have been so sick at our house. We missed out on all the fun crafts and treats this year. The kids were so sick that they did not touch their Valentine treats until yesterday. Poor things! We have been battling the flu, for the second time this winter.

Annisten came down with it on Saturday night. After four days of her throwing up, not eating, and being lethargic, Corey and I were getting worried about her. The poor thing did not talk or play at all. Usually when my kids are sick, they lay down for a bit, throw up, run around, then lay back down for bit. Plus they are only sick for 12 to 24 hours.

I was so worried that she had something really wrong with her. Sometimes my worries and fears with the kids get a little crazy. I began thinking she had some serious childhood illness. We ended up taking her to the doctors.  She finally  got better but it took her a few days to get to eating regularly. I learned that if you get the full gastrointestinal flu, it can be up to 10 days of throwing up!!! So crazy. Thank goodness that she did not get it for the full 10 days.

So I had one day were Anni was better and I was actually able to get out of the house. Just as we getting ready to leave the house for church on Sunday, Peyton said his tummy hurt. As we were heading out the door, sure enough he got sick. At least it was not on the carpet or in the car.

Round two of the flu and another week in the house! So much fun. You would think all of that time in the house I would be completely caught up in all my chores. Actually the opposite. The only think I have done is endless laundry, clean up messes, sit in the rocking chair, and watch Tom and Jerry.

Both kids are finally better. I don't think I could endure another episode of Tom and Jerry or another can of soup! I have de-germ everything and have become paranoid about germs in the house. Every little twinge in my stomach I think oh know I have the flu. So far it has just been the heart burn from being pregnant. I would take heart burn over throwing up any day!
