Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving our family went to Missouri and Iowa to visit our family. The two day drive there did not seem so bad because we were so excited to see our family. First stop was  Nana T and Papa Mike (my parents). We had a great time. We actually celebrated a double holiday, Thanksgiving and Christmas, since we were not going to see them at Christmas time.

Peyton helped his Nana T with cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Most of the time he would sneak drinks from Papa Mike's cool-aid, leaving cracker or other various left overs in the glass from his dunking habits. Papa Mike was not thrilled about it. He kept hiding his glass, but Peyton some how always found it.
This is how most of the guys prepared Thanksgiving dinner.

Peyton, Annisten, and Gwennie all had a great time playing together. They were so busy playing that they did not want to take pictures.

We could not find Annisten and Gwendolyn. They had snuck off with a bag of gold fish and were having a good'Ol time eating their snacks.

The kids were so excited about opening presents. Peyton could hardly wait. He tried every trick in the book to open the presents early. Peyton even tried to convince Nana T to open his present. He told her that he had a present for her and that she should open it right now. Annisten on the other hand, just would open every present she found. Once we did open presents, Peyton repeated over and over, "I am so Happy!" Once Annisten found the candy, she did not care to see anything else. She went around stealing every one's candy for the rest of the night.

Next we went to Nana Sonia and Papa Alex's house (Corey's Mom and step-dad). Alex had a huge pile of leaves waiting for the kids. Peyton had a great time. Annisten was not sure about the leaves. Aspen just watched all the commotion.

We went to the town square of Fairfield to check out all of the lights and festivities. By then the temperature was dropping and starting to get pretty cold. The kids loved all the lights despite all of the cold weather.

Santa was on the square too. Annisten was not thrilled about sitting on Santa's lap. Peyton on the other had was so excited he kept bouncing around and could not stop grinning.

The next day we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow covering the ground. The temperature was freezing too! What a change from the fall weather we had the day before.

The two day trip back seemed to take a week. We had to wait until Monday to leave. Iowa had some pretty bad weather. When we left the next morning, the roads were icy and snowy in spots. There were cars in the ditches every where. The going was slow and we were glad to make it to Nebraska. Then the boredom took over.
I think Corey and I were more restless than the kids. Everyone was so board. The kids were tired of the movies, games, and toys they had in the car. There was so much stuff in the back seat that we could hardly see the kids. Most of it was all the stuff we tossed at them to keep them entertained. When we finally made it to Utah, Peyton said "I'm so excited to be at our orange and gray house."

We are glad that we were able to go see out families for the Holidays. Our trip seemed so short and we were sad to leave our family.
