With the new year, Peyton gets to move from Nursery to Sunbeams. Once again we talked all about Sunbeams and being in primary. He was already to go, but wanted me to go with him.
When we walked in the room and saw all the kids, Peyton was unsure about being a Sunbeam. He wanted to know where the little chairs were. Once he saw "his girls" (In his nursery class, there
wasn't any boys. He calls the girls he is friends with from his class "his girls.") everything seemed better. I told him I would check up on him. Peyton seemed to like that idea.
Corey and I were worried about Peyton being a Sunbeam. We thought for sure he would be the kid bouncing off the walls and we would be called in there to settle him down. Every time I peaked into the primary window, he was sitting in his chair smiling.
The following Sunday, Peyton had to give the prayer in sharing time. He was pretty excited about it. He asked several times if Corey and I would be there to watch him. So we waited at the back of the room. Until it was his turn, he had to sit in the prayer chair facing all the kids. Peyton thought this was a big deal and was smiling from ear to ear. When his turn came to say the prayer, we walked up to the podium, climbed up on the steps, pulled the mic down, and said his prayer! About 3 words into it he forgot what to say and waited for his daddy to help him. Corey and I were so proud of Peyton for being a brave boy and saying the prayer; especially it since Peyton has only been to primary twice.
